Valerie Daldrup has many years of experience in various international projects, especially in cooperation with Asia, and has worked for various associations, international companies and research institutions. She is responsible for the coordination of the subproject at the University of Jena and is the contact person for people interested in founding a company and startups with an interest in internationalization, especially Japan.
About the Competition
What we offer is a trip to the heart of Germany
The Central German region is the traditional industrial heart of Germany, rich of high-tech
companies and startups - and located right between Munich and Berlin, both max. 2 hrs. by high-speed train.
We are looking for you as a Japanese founding team or startup e.g. in the following areas:
- Deeptech & Industry
- Health & Sports
- Sustainability & EduTech
The winner receives
- A trip to Germany for one team member from pref. May 25 – June 8
- Tickets to events such as the Born Global Startup plus MACHN Festival (May 27 – 30) and the Investor Days Thuringia (June 4 – 6)
- Networking opportunities in the Central German region and beyond
- Coaching options
How to Apply & Procedure
- You can apply by contacting us by mail and explain your motivation to introduce your startup in Germany.
- You are free to ask questions in case anything is unclear.
- You need to deliver an Englishlanguage pitch deck or a video and a motivation letter, best until April 15, 2024.
- Prerequisite is knowledge of the English language of one team member who represents the startup in Germany.
- You will be invited to present your startup in Osaka, Kobe or Tokyo between April 22 and 26. Details will follow.
Other interested startups are invited to travel on their own expense or will be invited to digital events
The deadline for submissions is April 15, 2024.
