The first day of the Born Global Startup Festival took place in Leipzig on the 27th of June and brought together more than 200 international students, Ph.D./ Post Doc researchers and alumni with business ideas and or interested in setting up a Startup in Germany.
A special focus of the festival was on empowering international participants to create startups in Germany. Attendees had the invaluable opportunity to learn from successful international founders like Luana dos Santos Held, CEO and co-founder of Brasilheroe and Pratyush Saxena, CEO and co-founder of Ideatarmac, who generously shared their entrepreneurial experiences in Germany.
After the inspirational podium discussion, attendants had the opportunity to take part in one out of three informative workshops on topics such as legal considerations for solo entrepreneurs, funding opportunities, and the thriving startup ecosystem in central Germany.
Moreover, we proudly marked the official launch of the International Startup Office, a dedicated space designed to continously provide support to international aspiring entrepreneurs from Leipzig, Jena and Halle.
To culminate the evening, we presented the prestigious International Innovators Award Mitteldeutschland and the ARQUS International Innovators Award, followed by an unforgettable summer party.
